NCT 127's "BLINGY" Tops Charts Around the World on Release Day

NCT 127's long-awaited return is already dominating the charts.

On August 24 at 6 p.m. KST, the group released their seventh full-length album "BLINGY" along with its title track of the same name, and the response was immediate. By the morning of August 25 KST, the album had hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums in Chile, Colombia, Finland, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Lithuania, Vietnam, and the Philippines — and entered the top 10 in a total of 21 regions.

Instant global reach

That iTunes map is more than a trophy list. From Latin America to Southeast Asia to Europe, the same album topping charts in a dozen different regions on the same day speaks to a fanbase that is genuinely international — not concentrated in one or two markets.

It also speaks to how well NCT 127's fanbase mobilizes. Global chart runs like this are fueled by coordinated buying and streaming, and NCTzens have always been among the most organized fandoms in K-pop. Twenty-one regions in a top 10 is a number that doesn't happen by accident.

A strong showing in China

In China, "BLINGY" reached No. 1 on QQ Music's digital album sales chart, full-length album chart, and Korean music video chart, plus the digital album sales chart on KuGou Music. That's the biggest digital music platforms in the country, all ranking the album first.

China has historically been an uneven market for K-pop groups due to regulatory shifts, so a full sweep across QQ Music and KuGou is a meaningful signal. It suggests NCT 127 still hold a significant presence there — and that the album's release timing and marketing landed well.

Charting close to home

The title track "Blingy" also hit No. 1 on Bugs' real-time chart in Korea and took the top spot on AWA's real-time rising chart in Japan. Combined with the iTunes results, the picture is a release that connected everywhere at once — home country, regional markets, and the rest of the world.

It's a particularly important comeback for NCT 127, who are marking their 10th anniversary this year. With Doyoung and Jungwoo currently serving their military service, the five-member lineup of Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Haechan has had to carry the release — and the numbers suggest they did it with room to spare.

What's next

With their fifth tour "NEO CITY – THE REDLINE" set to kick off in September, "BLINGY" now has a live show as its launchpad. A chart-topping album followed by a stadium tour is exactly the sequence a comeback of this size calls for — and given these numbers, the tour is heading into even brighter territory than the group planned.
